Dreams

Each and everyone of us has dreams that we want to fulfill. These dreams range from a dream job to finding the love of ones life. None of us have just one dream and to take the chance at one dream may mean laying aside others. If one needs to lay aside dreams to follow the path to another is that dream or dreams truly worth what one has to give up?
I would say yes it can be worth it. An old proverb comes to mind in this situation. I don’t know who originally said it and I’ve heard it in many different forms over the years. It is, “the wind from one door closing opens another.” It is very simple. A choice to abandon one dream can lead to other dreams.
All of this comes to my mind because I’m nearing one of my dreams. That dream is to become a full time writer and get out of the dead end job that I’m currently in. The only piece that remains in fulfilling that dreams is for my present novel to make it through the publisher and be sold many times over. It is one of the biggest steps in completing my dream and for the most part it is out of my control.
After reaching this point I have asked myself was it all worth it? Did I give up other dreams that were far more worthy in the pursuit of this one? I say yes it has been totally worth it. This one dream if it is ever truly completed has the chance to open so many other doors that could lead my life down other paths. The future has the potential to be wide open.
The question I have for you is. What are your dreams? Have you fulfilled them and were they truly worth it in the end?

A Little Update.

Today I thought I'd give you an update of where I'm at with my writing. By the end of next week I will have the plotting out the fourth book of the Power of Love Quartet finished. It is coming along quite nicely. Some recent ideas, that you will all have to wait to read, have made the story start to really come together.

Once the plotting is done I will begin working on the first draft of A Memory of Love. I hope to have the first draft done in  a couple of months. I have a lot of work ahead of me this year, but I'm doing what I love to do. I truly want to see where all of this may lead. I'd better get back to it.
