Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m Ryanne Anthony… wife, mother, goddess and I live for caviar, smoked salmon and Chandon.
Okay, seriously, I am a wife and mother but I’m more of a Tendercrisp girl. That’s Burger King… and I am addicted to Angie’s Boom Chicka Pop Popcorn, Angry Orchard Crisp Apple Hard Cider, AriZona Arnold Palmer’s and CHOCOLATE!

Tell us about your latest book.
Falling: Book One of the Negative Ion Series is the story of Jaxen and Kimber, through Kimber’s POV. These two have to have a relationship that will only last 125 days, then she’s off to New York to intern at her father’s law office then to law school. Kimber has to leave Jaxen behind in California and pursue her dreams, even after falling hard and deep in love with the ultimate bad boy.
What do you have coming out in the future?
I have the next two installments of the Negative Ion Series, Despair and Fell. Soon, I hope to get the M Series off the ground, as well.
Is your book a stand-alone or a series?
This one is the first of a three-part series.
Why romance and what makes your particular brand of romance special?
Romance, because it’s what I know. I experienced it and I love it. It is out there, despite what some may think. Keeping it, well, that’s the conundrum, I think.
My brand is ‘special’ because I like to give my stories believable plotlines; twists and turns, if you will. It makes a far more interesting story, I think, if you don’t see something coming. Just when you think, ‘hey, now he/she is going to do the right thing’ BAM! Something you were not expecting pops up and you want to reach in and either slap the character or hold him/her tight in your arms and console them while promising a slow, painful death to their antagonizer. That, to me, is entertainment.
Is romance the only genre that you write in or do you write in other genres? If so what other genres do you write in?

Kimber wanted to be a lawyer almost as much as she wanted Roland Sampson, her older brother’s best friend. After pining for him for two years, Kimber finally accepts that to Roland, she will always be “his best friend’s kid sister” and nothing more.
During her first year of college, Kimber meets Samantha and her twin, ultimate bad-boy Jaxen Malloy, drummer for Negative Ion. Tatted. Muscled. Beyond gorgeous. Soon Kimber finds herself forgetting Roland and thinking only of Jaxen, much to Samantha’s disappointment. Like Kimber’s brother, Samantha wants Kimber as far away from Jaxen, female enemy number one, as possible since she knew all Jaxen would do is viciously hurt her. Not this time, Kimber insisted. Well-schooled on Jaxen’s reputation, Kimber decides to take what she can get, and ignore all the warnings to stay away from the handsome bad-boy.
Will Jaxen ever think of Kimber as something other than his “annoying” sister’s friend or could he possibly be falling for her, too? Kimber hoped so and, to find out, she was willing to take the risk of Jaxen breaking her heart… and soul.

Do you ever base your characters on real people in your life?
All the time! Self, included. There is some of and my husband in every character I create.
What authors inspire your writing?
Judy Blume has always been the best to me, no matter what she writes.
How have your real life experiences influenced your writing?
Tremendously. I have repeatedly pulled from real life events and twisted them, in several books. Not all, but some.
What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Read, listen to music, research with my husband ☺, teach my daughter not to say ‘I can’t’.
What was your road to publishing like? Tell us about it.
Long and winding, and still a bit nerve-wrecking. I’m hoping to get the hang of it soon. Fingers crossed.
How did you come up with the title of your book?
When I title a book, it’s usually as a desperate act to move on. Titling books and naming characters have to be the hardest part of writing to me. No clue why.
Do you read romance or do you prefer other genres?
I think I do prefer romance, HEA or not, I think. Now that I think about it, yeah, I really do. I’ve read other genres, sure, but somehow, me and romance are a fit.
What celebrity would you chose to play the main character(s) in the movie rendition of your book?
Jaxen Malloy was characterized after Colin Wayne. Took one look at that guy and I had Jaxen.
I see Emma Stone as Kimber; I think she’d be perfect as Kimber.
Jesse Williams as Parker, Charles Michael Davis as Roland, and Lyndsy Fonseca as Samantha.
Which of your characters is your favorite and why?
By far, Bobby E. from Effection is my all-time favorite. Close second has to be Marcus Cannon from the M Series. Madison is my favorite female character, followed closely by Kaia from Effection.
What is your preferred writing environment?
I like complete and total quiet, a can of tea and no interruptions when I sit to write… except for my Spotify blasting, preferably Seether but I basically listen to anything.
How would you describe your writing style?
Hectic, complicated and entertaining. If you don’t cry AND laugh AND scream AND get angry in every book I’ve written, at least twice, I’ve failed and that disappoints me.
Do you have a careful plan when plotting your stories or do you just go with the flow?
I start out with a plan and most times, I write the ending/epilogue before I write the story. My goal is to get my ‘babies’ to that ending.
With many publishing routes available today, which felt the most reliable to you when it came to the many choices?
Still weighing the options, so perhaps ask me again in about a year.
When did you know you truly wanted to give writing a shot?
When I finished Mariah, then Broken and finally let people read them. Apparently they were ‘so good’ that I ‘could not be so selfish as to keep them from the public.
What is your favorite quote?
Interjections show excitement or emotion. They’re generally set apart from a sentence by an exclamation point, or by a comma when the feeling’s not as strong.
Do you have any advice for other writers and what is it?
When I write, I try to be humorous, serious and forthcoming. I look to entertain and keep my characters in the way I’ve portrayed them from the beginning. I want you to laugh, cry, yell, scream, drink, threaten and want to toss your reading device when you read my words. If you manage to threaten my brain, well… my work was done correctly and I’ve earned a fan, hopefully. Strive to do the same things, some if not all, with everything you write but be true to YOU and what you want your ‘babies’ to do, say and be.

As an author, what is the one question that you wish people would ask you, but no one ever has and what would your answer be to that question?
